Public consultation on the proposed national retrofit financing for domestic refurbishment
Thursday 25 July 2022 | 12:45 - 15:00
What is Better Energy Financing?
This scheme (formerly known as Pay as you Save) is the Government’s proposed financial solution for homeowners to upgrade the energy efficiency of their houses in order to meet the EU energy efficiency targets of 2020. This is part of the transition away from Exchequer-funded grants for energy efficiency measures. The intention is that this will be a comprehensive scheme (excluding low–income housing) that puts in place a structure or incorporates existing structures, covering finance, technical standards, assessment, registration of contractors, assessors and materials. The scheme will focus on creating a quality mark for retrofit. All the current documents on the scheme can be downloaded from the Better Energy Financing website.
The overall design of the schemes will be presented at the briefing and it will give attendees a chance to input into to the design of the proposal.
The briefing is open to anyone with an interest in inputting into the development of the scheme. Space is limited for this event and light lunch will be provided so you must register here. Venue is the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, 7 Clare Street, Dublin 2.
